The Avon Town Manager serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the town and oversees the departments and staff that coordinate various services for residents. 

 

The Avon Town Manager is Tom Klein. Mr. Klein has been Town Manager for Avon since 1998. Mr. Klein graduated from Indiana University with a Master's Degree in Urban Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Management. Mr. Klein has worked for the City of Indianapolis as Chief Financial Officer for Public Works and Executive Assistant to the Public Works Director. He has also worked for the City of Bloomington as Executive Assistant to the Mayor and in the Public Works Department.

Mr. Klein has served on the Executive Board for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns and was President of the Indiana Municipal Management Association.

Mr. Klein is a member of the International City/County Management Association.

 

Mr. Klein is also a Board member for Central Indiana Artists and Indiana Youth Soccer. Mr. Klein is a graduate of Leadership Hendricks County.

 

Mr. Klein is married with three children and attends Avon United Methodist Chuch.
